Renewable Energy

Mohave Electric Cooperative, Inc. (MEC) actively engages in renewable energy initiatives, including the ownership of two utility-grade solar fields in Fort Mohave, producing a significant 15.3 megawatts. This output is sufficient to power approximately 3,320 homes. In a recent expansion, MEC secured a power purchase agreement for a 23 MW solar array coupled with a 15 MW battery energy storage system, enhancing their capacity to manage energy supply effectively. An upcoming project involves a second battery storage system, aiming to further stabilize energy costs and support peak period management for over 37,000 members. MEC collaborates with Arizona Electric Power Cooperative to bolster these efforts through strategic partnerships.
