Fire Department

The Colusa Fire Department, established in 1873, has a long-standing tradition of dedicated service to the citizens of Colusa. Our mission is to provide effective emergency services to control and reduce the impacts of fire, medical emergencies, hazardous materials, terrorism, and natural or man-made disasters. This is achieved through prevention, suppression, rigorous training standards, and comprehensive information and education programs.

Our department comprises a dedicated team of four paid staff members and twenty-five volunteers, equipped with state-of-the-art firefighting equipment to meet today's challenges and prepare for tomorrow's. The Colusa Fire Department also plays a crucial role in emergency medical services, being the first in Colusa County to train personnel in the use of Automated External Defibrillators. Our commitment to protecting the lives and property of Colusa residents remains steadfast, ensuring the community's safety and resilience.
