Finance

Overview

• Responsible for the finance and accounting functions of the city including treasury management, financial reporting, budget preparation, cash management, debt management, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and utility billing

• Advises the City Administrator and City Council regarding the financial plan, budget targets, and financial policies

• Establishes a level of financing for the capital budget

• Coordinates the annual audit performed by an independent certified public accountant (CPA)

• Develops and implements a citywide operating budget; establishes and schedules a budget calendar

• Performs the duties of City Treasurer as defined by the laws of the State of Kansas
