401 Rye Seed

This multi-use seed also known as Florida Black Rye - is popular for winter grassing as it is fairly cold tolerant and produces more forage than oat and wheat. 401 Grain Rye has extensive root systems and is able to stabilize excess soil and nitrogen, making it perfect for improving and renovating soil. When planted between rows of food such as tomatoes, it can act as a windshield to protect the crop from strong and damaging winds. 401 Grain Rye grows tall, reaching heights of up to 4 to 5 feet. It is also a popular grass for erosion control, and weed suppression, and a preferred grazing crop for cattle, deer, rabbits, and turkey.
