The Sahuarita Food Bank obtains the majority of its food donations from the Agency Market at the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona in Tucson. We are allowed two visits a week to shop and round up food products for our shelves and refrigerators/freezers.
We also purchase food, mostly produce, at the GAP Ministries as well as milk and eggs from a variety of sources, when they are affordable. Nogales-based produce distributors provide us with produce in season.
Drivers and loaders are needed most mornings of the week for these food pick-ups. This is a vital position in helping to address hunger in our community.
